THE HANGED MAN
You pulled The Hanged Man…
This card and song will have some significance for you.
If I’d Known I Loved Her is a clarion call to regret, a longing message to our past self, to wake up to love and act before it’s too late. The Hanged Man appears when one’s life is in suspended animation, resisting reality because we cannot accept what is — we are held fast by our own mind until we surrender to the universe’s will. A man and a woman each hang by one leg, one an a chain of gold, one of silver. The chains tie them to different perspectives, but we cannot see the source of the chains, nor if their hands are even bound. We often find ourselves in a loop, a snare set in our own mind: replaying, retracing, repeating. We are given the gift as conscious beings to experience memory of the past and projection of the future, but often being lost in those past and future realms — over which we have no control — we are unable to sense what to do in the present. And sometimes the only thing to do is nothing, just pause peacefully and consider what we are meant to discover. Is what we believe to be true, true absolutely? What could we gain from seeing our struggles from a new angle? What would happen if we completely let go of our plans and expectations and trusted that we do not always know best? We must be The Hanged Man and choose our own submission. If we believe there is nothing left to discover, we will never learn.
“And it sparks my heart with wonder…”
